CD ormanents cont....

I just have a real quick post today. I wanted to show you the other two recycled CD ornaments I made.

I actually have tons of things to show you but my camera isn't functioning correctly. I'm hoping to get a new one soon. I have no idea how to get through Christmas without a camera. I might have to pull out my 35mm Canon.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Recycled CD ornaments

We have tons of old DVDs and CDs that either have outdated information on them or would no longer work. For some odd reason we have been moving these all over the world for 10 years. When we got a new computer desk I set out to get rid of anything we weren't using and found tons of these disks. So I decided that I would reuse them and make Christmas ornaments for all the kids in my family and the kids in Rhalynn's class.

I think they turned out well.

The reindeer was cut from Doodlecharms.

The santa was cute from Doodlecharms.

The font is Plantin Schoolbook I believe and the dove is from the Christmas solution cart.

I hope that everyone is having a Blessed Holiday Season!!

Happy Friday!!

My Cricut has been humming this morning. I'm working on several different things but my goal for today is to finish up my ormanents and get the bulk of my Christmas tags done.

Today I'm showing you the tea light boxes that I put together. The santa was a free digi from Pixie Dust Studios. I orginally created this box for their Pixie Challenge, however I never got a chance to post it before the due date.
I have seen many boxes for just about everything so I decide to try my hand at making my own. After much trial and error I finally got these two boxes. It would have probably been eaisier just to find someone elses directions.

The large box holds five tealights and the small box hold four.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Friday and a beautiful weekend. Next week I'll have some ornaments to show you guys!

I WON!!!!!

I am so totally excited!!! I won Lorie's blog candy at The ThINKin' Spot!! How awesome is that??

I've been MIA for the last couple of weeks. I've been really busy cranking out Christmas presents. I'll start posting them this week since some of them are actually complete now. I have a bad habit of getting half way through something and then having a brainstorm and starting something else so I don't forget.

I hope that everyone had a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving. Ours was wonderful! Afterall we have so much to be thankful for. I'm a couple of days late with this but here goes. I'm thankful that Anthony is home even though the possiblity of a deployment looms. I'm thankful our two girls are healthy and happy. I'm thankful for our friends that are always there for us no matter how far apart we are. I have the greatest friends anyone could ask for that have helped me through some of the darkest days and celebrated with me through the happiest . So Margaret, Jodi, Jessica, and Rachel.....I love ya'll.
We enjoyed a catered Thanksgiving lunch with Anthony's family. The girls just love being with their cousins Margie and Olivia.
(Olivia, Clara, Margie and Rhalynn)

And their Grandpa and Grandma.
(Margie, Clara, Grandpa Monty, Grandma Teresa, Rhalynn and Olivia)

Then of course on Friday I was up and shopping at 4:00am. One of the perks about going Black Friday shopping in a small town is the lack of massive crowds. My in-laws live near Athens, Ohio where there isn't many stores but you are almost guaranteed to get what you want. I got some great deals and had a blast with my mother-in-law. She even bought herself the blue expression from Walmart.

Saturday was my Mother-in-laws annual Cookie day. We spent four hours making cookies, fudge, buckeyes and all sort of tasty stuff. Most of ours went to Anthony's office so that I didn't eat it all. Santa even came to visit!! The girls didn't even know that it was Anthony. Rhalynn was so excited when he came in the door it was too cute.

Rhalynn and Santa

Clara on the other hand headed for the first lap she could find and promptly hid her face. I'm suprise that she even sat in his lap. She went last out of 12 kids so I think that might have helped.

Clara and Santa
It was a blessed Thanksgiving and a wonderful holiday weekend!!
I hope that every one has a wonderful Wednesday!!

Explosion Box and card

I made this explosion box and card for a good friend of my sister's who got married in August. Rileigh is a sweet girl who chose a hard life as her husband Trent is in the Army. Trent is already preparing to be sent overseas yet again. I wanted to do something special that she add her own pictures.

The dominating color of their wedding was yellow so I used that when I created the explosion box. The heart is cut from Indie Art, flowers are prima that I got on sale at Michaels and the inside middle of the box I embossed the yellow with my Cuttlebug using my D'vine swirl folder. The stamp is one of my favorites "The secret to a rich life is to have more beginnings than ending."

The card is from the Sweetheart cart. I absolutly love how it turned out. The yellow was cut out of DCWV glittler paper.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!!

Helmet Card for Kaegan

Here is another card that I made for Kaegan. If you'd like to learn more about this wonderful little boy and how he is progressing in leaps and bounds after his stroke, I have a link in this post here.

I used sports mania for the helmet and plantin schoolbook for the numbers. Its pretty simple but I'm trying to keep them fairly flat. Kaegan's aunt Sarah told me that they would be putting all the wonderful cards that he recieves into a scrapbook.

Have a wonderful Friday and a blessed weekend. We are off the the inlaws for the weekend so the girls can be spoiled a little and Anthony and I can go on a much needed night out.

Diaper cake meets the cricut!

I made a diaper cake for my dearest friend Margaret who is due with he second son in January. I could only do one layer since I'm going to have to mail it to Texas. The block on the top collapses so that the whole thing will fit in a small box. The "H" on the block is for their last name. I hope she likes and and knows that I miss her.

I used Plantin Schoolbook for all the letters. I also added baby bottles from Doodlecharms on both sides of Troy's name. And for the top of the block I used Beyond Birthdays.

Since I was posting about my first diaper cake with the Cricut I thought I'd post pictures of the other I have done. I didn't have the Cricut when I made them but I really could have used it.

My laptop

I hope that everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween! My girls had a wonderful time trick or treating with Pirate Daddy. They came home loaded with candy and talk of all the wonderful costumes they saw. The girls were really into everyone else dressed up, for them wearing a costume is pretty much a daily occurrence. We have a chest of drawers full of costumes, fun hats and play jewelry. So I'm often accompanied by Super Girl or one of the many Disney Princesses.

On to the crafty part of today's post. I was looking at my desk the other day and realized that my laptop looked a little plain. So I decided that I need to jazz it up a little.

I used pink and green wall pops. The everything but the "M" is from the Sweetheart cartridge, and for the life of me I can't remember what cart the "M" came from.

Thanks for stopping by. I love getting comments!!!

Quaterback Ian

One of the images that Rachel stamped for me was Quaterback Ian. He's just so darn cute.

I colored Ian with my Bic markers in my old high school colors. I cut the football with the Sports Mania cart. Its rather plain but I like the simple look of it.

The card is for Kaegan, the seven-year-old son of two of my closest friends in High school. Kaegan had a stroke due to a small clot in the back of his brain near his brainstem on Sept 29. While he still has much more recovery ahead of him he is making outstanding progress. He is a tremendously strong little boy with an outstanding family support system. My heart longs to be in Texas so that I could help out Matthew and Amber. I do what I can here and send card and email to let them know that a doesn't pass that I don't think about them all. I also pray and ask anyone to also pray for Kaegan and his family. You can check THIS site to learn more about Kaegan and follow his wonderful progress

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thursday!! I believe Clara and I are going to go hang out in Barnes and Nobles for awhile. Thanks for stopping by!!

Brainstorming..............

I've been busy brainstorming on what to make for Christmas gifts. Ours family are too large to buy everyone something but I try to give everyone something. Last year I altered cheap glass ornaments with vinyl. I think I might stick with ornaments. Like I said I'm still brainstorming since I try to use the things I already have.

I wanted to post a couple of cards I've made for my "just in case" stash.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy a wonderful day!

Birthday Gifts

I've spent the day crafting away. My main project to get done was a birthday gift for my niece, Margorie. I was still in its planning stages until I got a call yesterday letting me know that they were celebrating early due to the fact that Margorie and her sister Olivia are the two busiest pre-teens I've ever met. So I had to get something done by Saturday.

I decided that I would make a cute little cover for a Jr. legal pad and alter a Frap bottle for her with some yummy mini chocolate chip granola bars in it.

I used a double sided paper from ColorBok. I also have to give a big thank you to Rachel (go check her out she does fabulous cards) for stamping me the image of Megan from The Greeting Farm. THANKS RACH!!! I colored Megan with my BIC markers. I think she turned out fairly well for me not know what I was doing. I just might have to break down and get some Copics. I'll cross my fingers that my Mom sends me money for Christmas cause I'm guessing Antony would freak if I told him I wanted to spend that much on markers.

Halloween goodies!

Now that Rhalynn is in school I actually have a place to send all of the goodie bags I like to make.

I made the base of the bag topper with paper from the Targer $1 spot. They were pre-cut photo mats that I just folded in half. The tags are cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and more I then stamped them with Studio G stamps. I stamped "Happy Haunting in black then used Stickles. I stamped the "Trick or Treat with Studio G green metalic ink that I found at Joann's. The ghost, mummy, skeleton and furry monster were all cut from Paper Doll Dress Up, I inked them up some and added googlie eyes.

Sorry for the bad pics, I think my camera is possesed.

Thanks for stopping by!

I love Halloween!

I've been super busy making Halloween stuff so I haven't posted in awhile. I'll be posting lots of goodies over the next couple of days (I hope). But

Right now I have another Halloween card that I did. I used a wood mounted Studio G for the "happy halloween". The web was cut with my Expression from the Paper Doll Dress Up cart and the spider was cut from the Doodlecharms cart.

Happy Monday!

Anthony the girls and I had a wonderful weekend!! Saturday we went to the Ohio Reniassance Festival. The girls had a great time seeing all the people in costume.

Then on Sunday we headed over to Beavercreek for the Popcorn Festival. Rhalynn loves popcorn so she was super excited. We didn't stay long because the girls and I were getting hot and cranky. We did discover that Beavercreek has a wonderful park and playground. I'm guessing that we'll be going back to play there again.

Well on to the crafty stuff.

Both of these cards were done with the Christmas solutions cart and my trusty Expression.

Have a scrappy day!!

Two cards last night!

I finally got to use my new scrapping space. (Pics of that will have to wait until I can get the girls side of the room clean). I made two Halloween cards last night. They are basically the same just different sentiments.

I used Core'dinations in my Cuttlebug. I used the Fiskers embossing spiderweb plate and think it turned out quite well. I've had the Fiskers for awhile and never used them so when I bought my Cuttlebug recently I searched YouTube for a video. I found several different "sandwiches" and they all seem to work quite well.

After I embossed the Core'dination I took a regular fingernail file and sanded it down a little. The color underneath is the same green as the spider. The spider is from the Doodlecharms cart, with googlie eyes. The "candyland" and "boo to you" were random stickers that I found in my stash. I think I got them at WM last year after Halloween.

I of course used my MS Drippy Goo punch and my brand spankin' new MS Web corner punch. The sentiments are from some wood monted $1 stamps from JA's.

Hope that everyone has a scrappy day!!
